What to expect from "Business: Unscripted" and the conversations ahead
Running a business is a journey full of ups and downs. There are exciting opportunities, unexpected challenges, difficult decisions, and plenty of moments when you wonder whether anyone else is going through the same thing.
And while there's no shortage of business advice out there, some of the most valuable insights come from simply talking with other business owners about what they're experiencing.
That's the idea behind "Business: Unscripted", a new podcast hosted by Anna Angelova, Co-Founder of Leficomp, and Maxime Girard, Founder and CEO of Dextra Advisory.
In this first episode, Anna and Max introduce themselves, share how the podcast came about, and discuss why they wanted to create a space for candid conversations about the realities of owning and running a business.
The reality behind business ownership
Both Anna and Max came from corporate and finance backgrounds before starting their own businesses.
They also share a similar experience: building their businesses while maintaining other sources of income.
As Max points out, taking the leap into entrepreneurship comes with financial responsibilities. When you have a family, bills to pay, and limited resources, walking away from a steady income isn't always realistic.
And once you're running a business, the challenges keep evolving.
Finding clients, managing finances, building a team, making difficult decisions, and keeping up with changing technology all become part of the journey.
The loneliness of running a business
One of the themes that emerges in the conversation is how lonely entrepreneurship can be.
Even business owners with established teams often carry responsibilities and make decisions that are difficult to share with others.
Max recalls reaching out to a client who had previously gone through a difficult period. When Max found himself struggling a few months later, that conversation gave him valuable perspective and advice.
It's a reminder of how much business owners can learn from one another, particularly during challenging times.
Why "Business: Unscripted"?
The idea for the podcast came from Max, who wanted a way to explore the business topics and experiences he was thinking about through conversations rather than written posts.
Anna shared his enthusiasm for discussing the practical and personal realities of entrepreneurship.
Together, they decided to create a podcast where they could explore everything from economic developments, business growth, finance, and leadership to technology, mental well-being, and the challenges of balancing business and personal life.
Some episodes will offer practical ideas and tools. Others will raise questions worth thinking about.
The conversations will draw on their own experiences, their work with clients, and the lessons they're learning along the way.
