It All Starts With You – The Person in The Mirror

You will notice that the posts in this category are different. They are meant to share what Leficomp is all about. And what is a better way to start the series than focusing on the person in the mirror? Because ultimately, it all starts with you, and it’s all up to you.

The best and most important day of your life is the day when you realize you are a responsible being.

What does it mean?

It means that you are “response-able,” as Stephen Covey puts it. Unlike other beings who are programmed to act in certain ways, you have the ability to choose your response. There is this space between stimulus and reaction where you can alter the programming and choose a different response.

Response instead of react! This is powerful, my fellow human being.

So, I urge you. Stop blaming everything and everyone else, and take full responsibility for your life. Look in the person in the mirror and put her in the driver’s seat of your life.

Your spouse didn’t make you angry. You reacted with anger. Your partner just stayed for drinks after work and came home late.

You are the one who reacts with emotions. You are the one who acts or doesn’t act. So, you are the one who ultimately creates the results in your life.

Choose to be different and leave the victim and blame culture.

Take responsibility.

Yes, there are things you don’t control. Yet, there are natural laws that govern how the world works. And by taking responsibility for your life, you have the power to create the life you want.

The government is not supposed to give you a good life. Society doesn’t owe you anything. You are the only one who is responsible for your life.

Think about it. If it were the outside factors that mattered, everyone would be the same. We wouldn’t have people like Oprah, Steve Jobs, or Dolly Parton.

I know it is repetitive, but it’s worth reading it again and again. The person in the mirror is powerful. Once she takes responsibility for her life, amazing things happen.

You don’t achieve success. You grow into it.

How do you grow into the success you want?

By focusing on yourself. By taking responsibility for your beliefs, thoughts, emotions, actions, and results. By growing into the best version of yourself.

Make today that day. The day you realize you are fully in control and responsible for your life. Live it well! Make the person in the mirror proud, happy, and fulfilled.
